More than 3.5 million deaths per year are caused by diabetes — equal to the amount of deaths caused by HIV/AIDS — however the United Nations has yet to recognize World Diabetes Day.
You can help by checking out World Diabetes Day. The goal is to bring an international focus on diabetes. It loses to high profile diseases because it comes about in many ways. There isn’t one phantom to chase down. Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are among the top childhood diseases. It hits the economically disadvantaged, indigenous peoples and the elderly disporportionally. Access to care is result of language, money and location. The other thing is help in this doesn’t stop with Diabetes. Many of these same victims and problems happen across the board with many other diseases.
