“The Hero with a Thousand Faces (Mythos Books)” (Joseph Campbell)
Indulging my overly curious mind. High school I discovered the Bill Moyers interview with Campbell, “The Power of Myth” (Joseph Campbell, Bill Moyers). Brave New World of sorts. Universal truth, as opposed to concrete truth became more important. Takes the fun out of weekly mass (if there was any). Also, highlights some of the modern appeal to gangs, cults and other tribe like artifacts since they are really the only vestige of maturity rights and social order to some. Star Wars and every hero movie since has used this as the blueprint for plot. Something else to steal other than a Shakespeare story. Not a weekend read but worth the time
