For anyone that cares, I have created a nifty universal link for all of my feeds (Blog of the FML, Orlando Pumpers, Sentinel Community Blog, FML Photoland, FML Videoland or all the ones on the left side already). While this truly useless creation is truly useless I found the making quite nifty. I used the new Yahoo Pipes to create my little RSS mashup. Cool thing about this is the total avoidance of knowledge of Ruby or other time coding madness to get nifty web 2.0 goodness. Cool thing if you don’t want to spend time learn Ruby or other coding madness, which I am sure all those people that learned some in order to do even the smallest nifty thing are feeling no love.
Any rate, you get to use modules and an easy gui to drag the pieces to the table and connect the pipes to each for the workflow of your hand dandy project. It runs it (debug default on bottom) as you add piece or connection each time so you know pretty quick when you have made a misconnection. It also doesn’t allow to connect any that are obviously the wrong order. It seems pretty powerful for what it is. It also allows you to publish and clone other projects that people have made (community goodnes of web 2.0). I used my Yahoo login to use it and don’t know if you have to have one. If you Flickr or any of the other stuff Yahoo has bought then you got one already.Semms that this is in house for Yahoo and they beat Google without buying it for enormous sums.
Oh, by the way I am loving Bloglines for all of my RSS needs. It has a handy subscription button for the sites you want to add on the fly and allows you to publish your list for public browsing. I haven’t moved everything over from Safari yet but this a worthy replacement.
I can’t claim the Yahoo Pipes as my own discovery, heard it on Twit 88
