I posted my new year’s resolutions with the idea of pressuring myself into actually sticking to them. Here is another narcissistic post and update only my inability to meet self stated goals.
1. Keep up the gym, don’t skip more than 2 weeks at a time
Not so good. Maybe should have mad that months instead of weeks. That one is blown. Time management is bad on my part. Add in Sam and the family thing. Yeah, a bit hard. I have gone a bit though but slacked enough that this one is shot along with my waste line.
2. Find a new job that I like and makes life easier for the family thing
My career malaise is a steady go. It isn’t as easy as finding a new job. We have to have the insurance thing. It has made me look at staying another year for some of Christina’s opportunities. That has changed, we think, and maybe I am trying again. I have to make it past the NECC at the end of the month and start looking again. Need to cleanup the resume as well.
3. Sell all the crap on Ebay that I have kept saying I am going to do
Well, I started and had a good go for that one. It lead to using the camera I bought from it. But summer is here and I have time. Need to finish this one up. It really isn’t a long list but merely a procrastination problem.
4. Finish the short film I started last year and make progress on the bigger project
Well I got this one half way done. I finished the movie and then upped the ante by entering the On The Lot show (which seems to be flaming out rather quickly). The second half is expanding in selection of the next big project. The originally intended one was a bit of the impetus of the Canon HV-20 from the ebay adventure above. But that has also created a few more. This is one is going good I think. I will have more from this by the end of summer.
5. Buy an acoustic guitar and sing a song to Sam the man
This one is connected to number 3. That was the idea for funding this one. It isn’t long gone yet. Maybe by the end of summer. I have sung songs to Sam the man so you might count this one half way done. Sort of.
