Water Gun

P9130672.ORF

It was a great day. Sam was not into the water though. We spent most of the time talking him into even standing up let alone sticking a toe in the water [he would correct us though, it is really "addo"]. I found my self taking pictures of the inanimate objects. Pictures of other peoples kids doesn’t really do it for me. There was some adventure, but short lived.

The equipment was delightfully bright and shiny, all the while endlessly spewing forth water. Everywhere.

I got more here for perusal.

Google Analytics – orlandopumpers.com

When checking my neglected Insulin Pumpers support group site’s analytics I found two types of pump searches hung around for more than a minute. The first a no brainer but I wonder what kept the second around. Maybe a search by a porn looking diabetic?

Lack of Campaign Signs Bring Out Passioned Creativity

The scarcity of campaign signs were purposeful in that it was wasted efforts. “…they don’t vote on Election Day” as stated by a staffer in a Washington Post interview. True.

But people like yard signs. So they got creative. And I think it shows were the passion is resting right now. While the polls tighten the signs for the Obama camp seem to be getting looser. I just wonder were the sense of humor and creativity is in the McCain supporters. You see some good ones at the rallys but that goes for both. I just see the lock-step normalcy of what is offered.

The Obama ones are at least interesting if not funny. Regardless. First the Geezer-Dingbat [via Pulse of CFL] and then a few more that I drive past every day.

Enjoy:

Note: They strategically placed the Halloween decoration between the two for some not so subtle hint.

This house had a nifty play on the “W” on black sticker from the last cycle as an M with the McSame tag. But it disappeared.

Great Fairey Style Obama-Hope Parodies

[via Boing Boing]

So I dig the Obama – Hope image of Obey’s creator, Shepard Fairey [I even made my own Obey parody]. So did a lot of people. And when anything hits it big it becomes the target of our true national pass time: snarky parody. I love it. And Renne Warner has collected the best of those inspired by the original hope and given them to you.

Here are few of my faves:

and this is Fairey’s favorite (and mine)

Help Crealde Get a Facelift

I took a photography class at Crealde. First time I had been on the campus.I was immediately taken with the charm and the artistic atmosphere that it embodied. Artistic is usually a foo foo word that almost always evokes a slight gag from me. But this was the way an artistic endeavor looked in my minds eye.

The class was great. Easy, filled to the brim with artsy know-how and worth every penny. The art I saw on the walls of the students was wonderful. I have looked at the class menu for something else. I have a few circled for free time coming up.

All that said, Crealde is showing its age. And simply signing up for classes is not going to help it move forward. It needs a break, a new start that will portray the work inside and make sure that things keep moving for those that dare to venture the art world, if only at its shallowest edges.

Crealde has its eyes set on matching funding that will get done what is a great step in the needed facelift. Matching means it needs to front the portion that isn’t matched. Duh. That is where we come in. The flier is below along with the link. Do what you can. If you can’t spend dough, pass it on and advertise.

Crealde thanks us by putting out new art/artist. And does so pretty well.

Google Doodle Petition for World Diabetes Day

[before you go on, my wife has had Type 1 diabetes for 9 years now, this is an incredible personal cause and hope you support it]

Google has niftily doodled a fun Google logo for celebrating causes and “days” throughout the year. World Diabetes Day is coming up, November 14th, and it would be bang up to score one for the sugar free.

To get one past the geeks at Google, TuDiabetes and Diabetes Daily have put forth a petition to show the support for a Diabetes Doodle. The goal is 20,000 signatures. If you have the minute swing by and drop your details off. Then send it to some one.

I Would Totally Vote for Geezer/Dingbat

Pulse of CFL found this one in the neighborhood. I don’t care who you root for, this is fun shit. I would have crashed my car, peed my pants and run naked down the street for joy after seeing. Well actually not, but it is pretty damn funny.

I have had more sign fun previously: creative sign theft and an oldie but a goodie – I Got Signed [last election]
