Excellent TED presentation by Gever Tully, founder of Tinkering School, about how to best prepare kids for the world around them by making them active participants. We pamper and protect them too much. I see those kids every day. Close minded and scared to deviate/innovate/explorate [ran out of -ate words]. The manic intellects and bright kids that amaze either have this desire and break the rules themselves or they have parents that follow these 5 1/2 rules. Worth nine minutes of time to watch.
