Change.gov – Office Of The President-Elect

Change.gov.jpg

I was amazed at how the Obama campaign took what Howard Dean began and blew it up. Embraced the web 2.0 well and effectively. Some might argue unauthentic, but miss the point that it has been the most open and communicative politics at the personal level ever. While Barry might not have been answering the replies, someone was and was on message. Every policy posted and every volunteer given the chance to coop the site for their own expression was unique.

Looks like it might continue. There is a blog, policy papers and a link to the transition guidebook. Sign up with email [for God knows what] and even a job application form.

Presidential Wrestling

Bad Ass old school wrestling poster celebrating the true ature of American Politics. Appropriate is the analogy to wrestling, the two tie each other in truthfulness [what, wrestling if fake], violence and gaudy pagaentry. BUY IT for a cool $250

Politics Round Up for the Week

My liberal love for Olberman is unceasing and enjoy his random rants. In this one he sums up the primary season in a few short minutes:

And this one is an interesting mashup [via boing-boing]. Obama and Lincoln.

Forgo the obvious problems: a war president with an anti-war president, one filled with rhetoric and the other man of action, and the republican vs. democrat (not really relevant as the parties flip flopped and shallow nonetheless). It is interesting for it is pivotal relationship in race, moral quandaries embroiled in the population and the high minded ideals that have propelled a young, locally popular politician into the national spot-light and hpeflly in a position to realign the countries priorities to things that have made America a better place.
My caveat is that Obama is sounding less the skilled idealist and more the anti-Bush that Democrats want him to be. We still have a few months. We’ll see if he can live up to the comparison.

Obama Declares Nomination Victory

This is for those that missed it. Here is the script as well FYI.

[Update - posted full video from msnbc.com, the other was only partial]

Obama = Change

obama_4color_omark.jpg

The real race begins now. I agree with the need for change. I also hear it more live and true in Obama’s message [see last night's speech]. We will debate the details for the next few months. But right now, I choose Obama.

Fox Attacks (I hope these guys aren’t Nielsen Families)

I think these guys have watched and recorded enough Fox News to make justify every ad dollar spent on a 24 hour cycle.
I don’t like the spin of Fox News but these turds miss the point that the dialog, no matter how stupid, is what is important. Without both sides hammering it out we have one party politics and that never seems to work out.
They are just mad that the right seems better at staying on message than the left (see current prez race poll results, McCain has the edge).

Obama/Edwards ’08

Obama/Edwards ’08, originally uploaded by citizensharp.

I would love to see this ticket.

Edwards was the best thing about Kerry’s campaign. If they had let him talk instead, might have one.

And for I get the redistributionist argument, liberal bias junk, I don’t care. They can’t screw it up any more than GW did for the last eight. Carters train wreck didn’t leave much a lasting impression on anything, maybe even paved the way for what was to work under Reagan. I want change, now.

Besides, I have already gone on record as saying I would jump ship and hit the McCain action in lieu of 4 more years of Clinton crappery.

Once again, I would love to see this ticket.

Endorsement Who?

NY Times has a cool endorsement graphic [via informedvoter2008] that interactively shows off who has endorsed who for prez. It covers celeb, politician and newspaper endorsements. There were a few surprises for me and in light of recent events some that might change. I pulled out a couple worth a look see.

[By the way, the niftiness of some of the cool flash stuff showing up on newspapers is really cool and has me reading more stuff. Check out Couch's stuff for the bombing range and such (too bad he ditched the Slantinel Sentinel, hopefully they will continue) for local coolness]

Despite the push from Robin he stills loves his “new York” girl

This one is defintely not one to brag about now.

Lieberman is full of crap. Can’t believe the Elephants still claim his defection as a victory. He stays in office because he brings home the right pork for his neighborhood. But wait, would a jewish politician bring home pork?

This one is a WTF moment. I didn’t know Arlo was still alive. I know 60′s radicals were preaching for government to stayed out of our business but has he really listened to everything Paul wants. He does look a lot like many of the Paulites.
